I am a senior citizen over 70.  I feel I get benefits from Tai Chi for Seniors in three areas; physical, emotional, and social.  Tai Chi for seniors is easy, uncomplicated and fun no matter what physical condition you’re in.  I have an upper back injury.  I was talking pills for the pain and doing painful exercises to build muscle strength.  After practicing Tai Chi for Seniors a few days I got rid of the pills and painful exercises.  Though my back is not fully healed it is much improved.  The usual aches and pains associated with my age are also much improved.20

In the emotional area, like many people, I sometimes get depressed.  After Tai Chi practice my spirits are up and I can handle my day with ease.  In the social area I aways feel comfortable and welcome at my Tai Chi for Seniors class.  The Instructor, Carlin Steward, is friendly and gentle.  All the people in my class are friendly and make me feel welcome. I don’t need special clothing and I don’t have to take a shower after workout. I just get on with my day.  I’d advise any Senior to take a look at Tai Chi for Seniors.  I know it has made my life better in every way.

After a fall, my doctor told me that I needed to take Tai Chi.  My balance had deteriorated after a hip replacement.  I tried 3 different classes before the Seniors-Only Tai Chi.  It has made a huge difference in my balance as well as improved range of motion and overall energy.  Carlan is a patient and knowledgeable instructor and my Tai Chi mates are the best!

I’m a 73 year old male retiree.  I take medication for C.O.P.D. (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), high blood pressure and high cholesterol.

In the six months I have been taking Tai Chi instruction from Carlan Steward, I no longer take cholesterol medication because my HDL has now doubled.  My high blood pressure meds have been reduced to half the dosage I had been taking for 10 years, and I no longer wake in the middle of the night needing my nebulizer to help me breath.

I have participated in the Seniors Only Tai Chi program for 3 ½ years.  Although it is a group activity, Carlan knows each participant and what limitations that each might have. I feel that I will be protected from injuries and not be pushed beyond my abilities.

I have benefited from the sessions with improved flexibility and have learned techniques that promote peace of mind.  Specifically, as measured by my allergist, my lung capacity has improved and I have been able to reduce medication for asthma.

I look forward to the group sessions and am developing the habit of practicing the exercises and tai chi forms on my own.

I have been doing Tai Chi for a little over 3 years and I feel a definite improvement in several areas.

I no longer take Tylenol as often for my knee pain.  I have greater flexibility in my neck.  I feel greater flexibility and coordination in general.  There have been days I have gone to Tai Chi feeling tired but when I am through I feel extra energy.

I will never stop Tai Chi.  I just feel too good about it.

I have been going to the Seniors-only Chi Gung and Tai Chi program since April, 2005.  The program Carlan Steward formulated is the BEST I will ever find.  It has given me more tranquility, composure, and MOST
of all, better health and a great outlook on life.

After the first 8 months, I was able to STOP two (2) medications that gave me bad side affects.  I had problems with urinary frequency and urgency.  Due to the medication for this problem, I had to take medication to eliminate the acid reflux caused by it. It is wonderful to be able to live more active without these medications.  I no longer need to take as much high potency aspirin.

The very first day of the program, at mid-afternoon, I couldn’t believe the energy I had.  This same unbelievable energy is still with me today. Due to the removal of a brain tumor, I had a balance problem.  Since beginning Chi Gung and Tai Chi, the problem has no longer resurfaced.   I will be 75 years old in a few months and I feel much younger.  I also feel a lot happier.  I no longer get irritated with others.  I attribute the program Carlan Steward formulated to the relaxed and tranquil feeling.  Since April, 2005 my health, peace of mind and soul have so improved that I feel it will keep me going for another 50.
